I'm Coalette M., the breeder behind J.C fur babies located in Grand Junction, MI. J.C Fur Babies is a small breeder in South Haven, Michigan, specializing in Dachshunds and French Bulldogs. We raise healthy, happy puppies in a loving home. Our goal is to match each puppy with the right family and provide support every step of the way.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I had got a dachshund when she was a kid, and always loved the breed. In 2013, got another dachshund and quickly became obsessed all over again. My love for them grew so much that I decided to start breeding, simply because she truly cares about the breed and enjoys raising them.

  • What makes your program special?

    At J.C Fur Babies, what makes our breeding program special is that we raise our puppies in a loving home, not a kennel. Our dogs are part of our family, so they get daily attention, care, and socialization. We focus on healthy, well-tempered puppies and take time to match each one with the right home. We also stay in contact with families to offer support even after they take their puppy home.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Coalette

Coalette has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Coalette partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $600 - $4,800 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA), Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
