Meet the breeder

I'm Jennifer F., the breeder behind Jennifer's Guardian Doxies located in Phoenix, AZ. We’re a small-scale program with a big love of this breed! Our dogs are our passion, and we enjoy spreading the love of our incredible dogs with other individuals and families by responsibly breeding. Q. & A. with Jennifer

  • Why did you start breeding?

I initially had no intentions of becoming a part of the breeding industry; but, during CoVid I "Went on a save the Dachshunds spree." I ended up with five pure bred (AKC & ACA) Dachshunds. Leo, Rhea, Demeter, Atlas and Electra. My uncle used to breed Greyhounds, my sister breeds Labradors in Missouri and my parents used to breed Cocker Spaniels. So, apparently it runs in the family.
  • What makes your program special?

I feel that my program is special because a breed my Dachshunds in my home instead of a kennel setting. The puppies are not kept in kennels either so they are also treated as family. I believe this leads to a happier and healthier puppy. They are more easily house broken and are ready to use doggy doors and piddle pads when leaving my home. They become more acclimated to being around other dogs ( my 5 Dachshunds ) and other humans.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, red, wild boar, chocolate, blue and cream, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
