I'm Dana J., the breeder behind Jewell Labradors located in Tualatin, OR. I offer top-quality Labrador Retriever puppies for therapy, service, and families. I am dedicated to using Puppy Culture as my breeding standard. I provide Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), in a happy, healthy, well-socialized, enrichment focused environment.
Q. & A. with Dana
Why did you start breeding?
About 10 years ago, one of our kiddos dr.'s told us that he qualified for a free therapy dog. We were put on a waitlist for 3 years. However, he was passed up since he made too much progress. How do you tell a kid that? We couldn't pay 25k for a dog, so I changed directions. I was determined to find a well breed therapy pup & trainer. I did. Now I breed & donate pups to specific agencies in need.
What makes your program special?
We have strong therapy and service lined pups with proven service for the last four generations. We use ENS, and science based training methods at age appropriate times, that aids in the puppies develop mentally and physically. Our litters are well adjusted, socialized and enriched. They are exposed to many types of people, noises, and situations that make them better life companions.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
