Neysa S.

Breeder of Border Collies

Meet the breeder

I'm Neysa S., the breeder behind JL Borders located in Lebanon, VA. The loyalty and loving disposition of this breed are simply the best! We put a great deal of effort into raising our litters to ensure our puppy families will have the best experience raising their new family members.

Q. & A. with Neysa

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got my first border collie when I was 20. He was unlike any other dog I have ever had, and his love was unconditional. He melted my heart every time he looked into my eyes and I have loved them ever since.
  • What makes your program special?

The puppies are raised in our home with us. They aren’t kept out in a pen and feed once a day. We handle our dogs, we try to get them used to their names. We introduced a create if the owner would like. We start puppy pad training, outside training. We expose them to different noises. Expose them to different animals: cats, goats, ext. They are kept clean with baths as needed, ears cleaned, nails trimmed. They are vet checked with shots and deworming per our vet.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and rough coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include slate merle, blue merle, red merle, black, brindle, red, sable, white and blue merle, white and red, and slate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
