I'm Josh C., the breeder behind Josh's Australian Shepherds located in Kinder, LA. Australia shepherds have been a really big part of my life for 16 now. I had toys for 13 years. I moved over to mini and standards Akc and Asdr. All my dogs are gino tested. I love the breed vary much I do what I can to breed for the best puppies. My dogs are like my kids.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Was around 16 or 17 was at a local western store and the owner and two of his dogs where there. When his black tri walked up to me i knew then this breed was the breed for me. I have done lots of work studying the breed before I decided to get me one so when I was 18 I got reco my first red moral. He ment alot two me 14 years worth he passed away in his sleep.
  • What makes your program special?

    I work vary hard to learn everything there is to know about the breed. Breed to the breed standard and breed for the best not the money.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $400 non-refundable deposit and between $600 - $2,100 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
