I'm Susan G., the breeder behind Joyful Heart Silks located in Tallahassee, FL. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament with a focus on conformation, athleticism, and intelligence. We are dedicated to providing our families with wonderful, healthy family pets. We carefully select future homes for each of our pups. We want to make sure they are going to a home that will give them the life they deserve.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I wanted to contribute to the betterment of the breed. I only breed dogs that meet the standard and further the breed.
  • What makes your program special?

    I do extensive health certification. All of my dogs live in my home, sleep in my bed, and are with us when we travel. They are socialized constantly and encouraged at all times to be the delightful little beings they are.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
