I'm Alana K., the breeder behind Kapelac's Royal Pugs located in Spokane, WA. We raise our puppies with total care and attention so they can become well-socialized and loving additions to their forever homes. We strive to produce healthy, intelligent puppies that are able to integrate comfortably into a variety of age groups, households, and lifestyles.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I was lucky enough to become acquainted with a very well-established breeder on the West Coast of Washington (I live in Eastern Washington), who has taken the time to mentor me and guide me in the proper ways of being an ethical breeder, not a "backyard breeder". I will forever be thankful to Kayte, proprietor of Kismet Kennels EP.

  • What makes your program special?

    What makes Kapelac's Royal Pugs so special is that my pups spend the first 8 weeks of their lives within 3 feet of me. They are in a home with children and other pets, such as dogs and even a Parrot! They are very well socialized by the time they reach their furever home. Many breeders have separate rooms in their homes, even separate buildings in which they raise the puppies they intend to sell, resulting in shy, unsociable pups.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include fawn, white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Alana

Alana has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $600 non-refundable deposit and between $1,600 - $2,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Your puppy will have received its first shots and deworming, as well as had its dew claws removed. Puppies can be registered with the AKC and come with a limited health guarantee. If we agree on breeding rights, there is an additional $800 fee. Stud fees are $2000 or second pick of the litter. All puppies are the same price, regardless of sex or color.”

Alana may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Primary Lens Luxation (PLL), Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKD), Pug Type, Pug Dog Encephalitis (PDE)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
