I'm Kathryn A., the breeder behind Kathryn's Yorkies located in Nitro, WV. We are lifelong dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. Our focus is to produce the best dogs of the highest quality so that other families can also enjoy the love of a dog. These dogs have proven to be wonderful companions in our lives. It is a privilege to be able to share that love and friendship with others through responsible breeding.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I lost a pet @ 4 years young to cancer and it became important to me about health backgrounds and knowing the parents of my Furbabies.

  • What makes your program special?

    We raise our Furbabies with lots of love and kindness - Our Furbabies are our Children.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are black and gold. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

    I honestly don’t know where to begin. My husband and I decided we were ready for a new Yorkie puppy, after the loss of our sweet Piper. I was scrolling online when I found GoodDog.com. I input my preferences and I searched through numerous puppies, before I found my Daisy May. She was very tiny and her eyes weren’t open yet, but I knew she was the one. I reached out to Kathryn, and she responded immediately. I gave her our information and she accepted our Application. I didn’t really know what to expect while we were waiting until Daisy was ready to come home, but Kathryn was amazing. She kept us updated, so we could watch Daisy grow and develop. Since Daisy was smaller than the others, her development was a little slower, but Kathryn let me know how she was doing and progressing. She sent me pictures regularly, so I didn’t miss a thing. When I had a question she was prompt to respond. If I had a request, she always obliged. Kathryn became more than the breeder of our Daisy, she also became a friend. As we got closer to time to bring Daisy home, we decided that we wanted to bring home one of Daisy’s brothers too, Little Bear. Kathryn worked with us to make it happen. Since we’ve been home Kathryn has kept in contact with us, to see how we are all adjusting. She so clearly loves her puppies. I don’t know what other Breeders do, but Kathryn goes above and beyond in the care of her puppies. This is not just a business for her, she truly loves these babies and treats them as her own while they are with her. She exposes them to different sounds and experiences, to help them transition as they move on to their forever homes. I would recommend Kathryn to anyone who wanted to bring home a sweet, well adjusted, healthy and oh so loved Yorkshire Terrier puppy.

    I am very happy with my new puppy and the process of getting him went well also. Kathryn was great! She replied quickly to my inquiry about buying my puppy and also to any questions I had after I made my initial deposit. I named my puppy Humphrey. Humphrey is a little Angel from Heaven. He listens so well and has great manners! I can tell he has been exposed to much TLC in Kathryn's home. As well as everyday noises and goings on in the home. He is so smart and Crate training is going really good and potty training as well! Many thank yous to Kathryn for bringing a great puppy into my life❣️🙏❤️

    When I first went online, looking for a Yorkie puppy, I came across several to choose from. I was thoroughly impressed with Kathryn’s ‘s website. It was obvious that she cared so much for her puppies and took such wonderful care of them. We love our little Maggie May, and she has brought us so much joy already. Kathryn provided us with all of Maggie’s milestones, so we knew exactly what to expect when we picked her up. Kathryn provided us with health records, a daily schedule, toys, a gift card…we feel so blessed!!     Our entire experience in purchasing Bentley from Katherine was so easy and she is so responsive. She has the cutest puppies of anyone! She provides background info, suggestions for food, toys, schedule, etc. And the fact that she sends home a goody bag of all sorts of things for the puppy is a plus! Overall experience, 10 out of 10!
