I'm Kathy B., the breeder behind Kathy's little yorkies located in Altura, MN. I love raising puppies. I started because I could not find a smaller, 5lb dog in rescues. I love my little dog and wanted to share her genetics with others. I have the time to devote to the pups as I am retired. People have been very happy with my puppies.

Why did you start breeding?
I started to breed because I had a hard time finding a small dog in rescues. I bought a puppy, she has such a great personality that I wanted to pass on her cuteness, size and temperment. I've had repeat customers, wanting a sibling. I have one female dog at home. The sire's owner recommended gooddog.What makes your program special?
I have a lot of time to spend with each pup since I only have one breeding female that I is bred once a year. I also have a granddaughter that loves puppies. I bring the pups to multiple nursing and assisted living facilities. They are a huge hit. I've had very positive feedback from previous owners.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA), Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
