Meet the breeder

I'm Katrina and Michael M., the breeder behind Katrina's Collies located in Lafayette, IN. Our dogs are bred for temperaments, health and coats. I like to stay in contact with all my new families who take 1 of our pups into their lives and homes. All of our Pups, are well socialized. with our 3 cats, grandchildren and chickens and the rest of thier pack. They are raised in our house, we have thier whelping box in our kitchen, with a camera so we can monitor them at all times. They are exposed to daily noises, vaccums, loud noises, voices, washers and dryers Basicly daily home life.

Q. & A. with Katrina and Michael

  • Why did you start breeding?

I saw my first Blue Merle across the street from my sisters house. Fell in Love and went to get our first collie, she was a blue merle who we named Storm. She was a Spice Rack Kennels collie. I am interested in keeping the older standard collie type with new strains of the show collie coat with selective breeding. I like the easier coats to take care of.
  • What makes your program special?

We breed for temperament and health. All of our pups are family and live with us, are part of our lives. Puppies are raised in the house, so they can be acclimated to sounds and new faces. Our Breeding Dogs are genetically tested for CEA, MDR1, DM Most of Our dogs are both SCPS AND AKC Registry.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable and white, sable merle and white, blue merle and white, sable, blue merle white and tan, and black white and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We couldn’t be any more thrilled with our puppy! He is very calm, healthy, and super smart! Katrina and Michael sent pictures and videos often and were very responsive. They were super accommodating and drove a considerable distance to bring our puppy to us. We highly recommend them! They have made my son’s lifelong dream of owning a Rough Collie come true!

Katrina and Michael were wonderful! I received photos and video updates about my girl. They've even started a group of all the people that have puppies from their litters. We even kept the name they used for our puppy as her middle name. I highly recommend them!!
