I'm Jana S., the breeder behind Kava Kennels located in Irmo, SC. Parents & grandparents are all extensively health tested, we practice intensive socialization with a variety of people, family pets, children of all ages, boat rides, wildlife, water and much more. Puppies are mentally stimulated, played with multiple times a day, snuggled frequently.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My family owned a kennel when I was a child. I grew up cleaning pens, socializing puppies and bathing them for Gotcha Day.
  • What makes your program special?

    We stay in contact with our families long after the baby goes to their new home. We post frequent updates with photos sharing them with our Kava Kennels family years after adoption. When purchasing a puppy from Kava Kennels the family receives a lifetime of support for their fur baby. We are available for play dates, boat rides, training advice and more.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Assorted Doodle Crosses puppies include medium and standard sizes. Goldendoodle puppies are standard size. Poodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Assorted Doodle Crosses puppies include white, red, parti, gray, chocolate, cream, black and white, and apricot. Goldendoodle puppies include silver, cream, apricot, black, merle, and parti. Poodle puppies are parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
