Q. & A. with Kirk and Lauren
Why did you start breeding?
I started breeding Chesapeakes in 1990 with a desire to produce Chesapeakes that were good representatives of the breed. The majority of our puppies become hunting dogs, companions and family members. The dogs in our breeding program must pass strict physical and termperment requirements and must earn their AKC Senior Hunter title before being bred. References are available upon request.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are all AKC Senior titled dogs with performance pedigrees. Genetic testing is performed for DM, EIC, ED, PRA. Hips, elbows, and eyes are guaranteed. Puppies are: wormed multiple times & vaccinated at 6 weeks; exposed to loud noises, gun shot, live birds, retrieving and swimming; taught to come when called; socialized by different people and children; and introduced to the crate.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark deadgrass, light brown, dark brown, and brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
