Q. & A. with Kim
Why did you start breeding?
I knew I wanted to be involved with the breed. Sharing them with others and being a part of the breeding process is something I am passionate about.
What makes your program special?
I am passionate about producing healthy, happy dogs. All of my dogs have to pass all of their health clearances to be bred. I live on 5 acres, and take advantage of the open space to give my pups lots of exercise and enrichment.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Dachshund puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our Dachshund puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Irish Setter puppies are chestnut. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Keliaire Long Hair Mini Dachshunds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Irish Setters.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
