I'm Julie K., the breeder behind Key To My Heart Dobermans located in Venice, FL. All adults are fully health tested, including annual or biannual echo and holters. All are AKC registered, with no "Z" or dilutes. All parents are also enrolled in the Doberman Diversity Project and are UC Davis VGL diversity tested.
Q. & A. with Julie
Why did you start breeding?
I've always had a love of animals and have been involved with multiple animal sports. After loving and owning a Doberman for a few years, I decided I wanted to produce and train this awesome breed. I have invested an enormous amount of time and effort into researching health and pedigrees, finding reputable mentors, and training in working clubs with like-minded people.
What makes your program special?
My dog's bloodlines come from mostly European show lines and are imported from Europe. My dogs are fully health tested, including holter/echo, DNA, hips, elbows, and regular blood and health exams. My goal is to find more diverse combinations through working with the DDP (Doberman Diversity Project), UC Davis/VGL, and pedigree research. I also strive for a more holistic philosophy with health/food
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and rust and red and rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
