Kickass Labradors

Whitney R.

Breeder of Labrador Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Whitney R., the breeder behind Kickass Labradors located in Compton, IL. We breed Labrador Retrievers with a focus on health, temperament, and performance. Our dogs are on the smaller-framed end of the standard and suited for competitive performance homes. They are high-energy with a desire to work, and thrive in active sport homes.

Q. & A. with Whitney

  • Why did you start breeding?

I've been fortunate to own this breed for 19 + years and participated in dog sport events with every lab that has been a part of my life. Through that time, I've learned what makes a puppy an ideal performance companion. I've also had battles with health issues in past dogs that has taught me so much about the breed, the importance of health testing, and the role that environment and upbringing have on quality of life.
  • What makes your program special?

Our breeding plans are largely focused on health and temperament. Collecting data on the lineage of our foundation dogs and their health/lifespans was the first step in putting together a program we are proud of. Work ethic is also something I strive for in my program. Our dogs and their offspring hold many titles in agility, scentwork, shed hunting, dock diving, hunt tests, obedience, disc, rally, and more.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
