I'm Joshua A., the breeder behind King K9 Academy located in Richmond, ME. We offer the highest quality British and Irish gun dog pups from imported parents and field trial champion pedigrees. Parents are thoroughly health tested. British labs are not 'English labs' nor are they American labs. They are in a class of their own. They are the quintessential gun dog. A devoted, athletic, highly biddable, and enthusiastic companion who is calm at home with the family and steady in the field or blind.

Why did you start breeding?
It's been a long-standing goal to create a breeding program for service dogs and field dogs and a natural evolution for my company.

My wife and I couldn’t be happier with our dog we purchased from Joshua. She truly is as explained to us and more. Joshua clearly did an exceptional job training in the early months. We can’t thank him enough and would recommend if you’re be between two dogs go with Joshua and King K9 Academy.

Our experience with Joshua was seamless and easy. He was very helpful with the process and suggestions for transitioning our puppy to our home. We were able to meet the dame and a couple of other puppies - all beautiful, healthy pups. Nellie is a delight. She is doing well with her crate and puppy classes so far. She can be fearful and timid in new situations but we're taking her cues and letting her observe in situations while staying close to us.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
