I'm Kayte J., the breeder behind Kismet Kennels, Exclusively Pugs located in Elma, WA. We are lifelong dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. Our dogs have proven to be the greatest companions to our family. We started breeding to contribute to breed betterment and to share smart and loveable puppies with other families.

Why did you start breeding?
I wanted to breed since I first owned pugs, but was always put off by folks saying I would hate it, it's hard work, smelly work, very little profit in it, etc.... and guess what? They were right, EXCEPT that I love every minute of it. There is no greater honor in my life, than bringing these tiny beings into the world and watching them grow.What makes your program special?
Our pups are born into children's cribs and live the first 6 weeks of their lives off the ground. The final 2-4 weeks, they are acclimated to higher traffic areas to prepare them for their new homes. ALL of our breeding dogs are genetically tested for PDE, DM, PLL, & PK Def. Our family mentors several other breeders. We are extremely interactive with potential puppy parents.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, fawn, white, cream, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

“This price reflects a minimum of 2 vet visits, dew claw removal, first shots, deworming at 2, 4, 6, & 8 weeks, a prepaid microchip, a 2 year health guarantee, quality dog food and a starter pack. Your deposit reserves the specific puppy you choose, and goes toward vet visits, quality puppy food, shots, microchips, potty pads, toys and numerous other puppy related costs.”

Litter update on 29 Dec 2025 •7 weeks old yesterday! Everyone is on solid kibble, everyone is drinking water, and everyone is learning the litterbox. We still have the 2 boys looking for homes.. they had a photoshoot and video shoot today to show how cute they are. They can go home as early as next weekend!

Litter update on 20 Dec 2025 •Yesterday we did our 6 week check up. Both available boys have their vet videos up for review. The vet declared them to be perfect. Their temperament is outstandung! Contact me if you are interested!

Program update on 19 Dec 2025 •We have decided to register this litter afterall, so these puppies will be coming home with AKC Registration paperwork. They will be 6 weeks old on Sunday and today (Friday December 19th) is their 6 week check up with our favorite vet! Stay tuned for the vet videos!

About Lila
Lila is the most gentle pug we have ever owned. She is shy and refined and contrarily extremely stubborn. It took her a couple days but she is a fantastic mama. She is also completely attached to my husband and myself.

Moses is a sweet and energetic boy with a huge head! He would rather be snuggled up to us than anything in the world. Moses loves other dogs and is best friends with our boxer, Jeni. Moses is 2 years old and loves to watch his babies through the crib walls.

Nixxie is a 2 year old cuddler. She is energetic and loves to play with the other dogs. She is an awesome mama and is as content to lay with her babies as she is to lay in our laps. Nixxie is best friends with her half sister, Nilani, and when they are not with litters, they sleep together in the same kennel at night.

Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKD), Pug Type, Primary Lens Luxation (PLL), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Pug Dog Encephalitis (PDE)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
