I'm Heidi K., the breeder behind Kleiner Bauernhof Mini Aussies located in Boerne, TX. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. Our dogs are our passion, and we can't imagine spending our lives without them. We are dedicated to achieving excellence and healthy family pets, and we love to raise puppies and prepare them for their forever homes.

Why did you start breeding?
Many years ago, one of my husband's friends got a mini aussie, and he was great, so in 2008 we decided to get one too. It didn't take long for us to completely fall in love with the breed. Before that we had fostered several pregnant dogs, so it didn't take much for us to decide to start breeding and sharing this breed with others.What makes your program special?
We are small, our dogs are our pets, and they live with us in our home, and stay with us forever. We only have a couple of litters a year so we have the time needed to care for them and to give our girls time to fully recover and get back to themselves.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include tiny and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle, black tri, red tri, and red merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hawley is one of our own. She is from Honey and Finley. She is our largest mini at 16in and about 33lbs. I love that she got her mothers eyes, 1 blue and 1 brown.

I had to add Cassie because she was our original Aussie and the matriarch. She loved having puppies and taking care of other puppies. She passed away from old age in 2021.

Leo is a male Poodle. Carefully selected as a great representative of his breed, Heidi decided to make him part of their program. Heidi has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Honey also came to us as an adult and had not been in the best conditions. It was obvious she was not socialized with people and had never been indoors. She has become one of the sweetest dogs I've ever owned and is a great mama.

Leo is an Apricot Parti Poodle. We got him as an adult, and it became clear that he had not been treated well at his previous home. He has come out of his shell quite a bit, and is very sweet, but still startles easily. He is very close with Elky and prefers to stick with her.

Grizzly is a high-energy, happy boy that loves to play frizby and with any other toy he caan get ahold of. Both of his parents were toys, but he grew to about 15in. Some of his puppies have stayed small and are toys.

Elky is a striking little girl with 1 blue eye and 1 blue/green marble eye. She may be small but she thinks she rules the roost.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
