Meet the breeder

I'm Bailey P., the breeder behind Knotty Creek Labradors located in Sweet Home, OR. We raise our puppies in-home using a structured developmental approach that prioritizes confidence, sound temperament, and adaptability. Through intentional early experiences and individualized care, our puppies are prepared to thrive in both quality companion and working environments.

Q. & A. with Bailey

  • Why did you start breeding?

My family owned three veterinary clinics, growing up in that environment shaped my respect for animal health and responsible care. Breeding allows me to apply that foundation through purposefully raised Labradors, with the goal of helping others build lasting, meaningful partnerships through thoughtful selection, early development, and lifetime breeder support.
  • What makes your program special?

We follow evidence-based developmental programs created by veterinarians and behaviorists to support each puppy’s mental, emotional, and physical development. Our puppies receive structured early handling, intentional exposure, positive crate exposure litter box training, recall foundations, and are integrated into daily household life to promote adaptability, confidence, and smooth transitions.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Bailey

Bailey has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Bailey partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

"At Knotty Creek, we allow our families to select their preferred gender, and when multiple coat colors are possible, we ask that you provide two color preferences. From there, we begin getting to know you. Each family participates in a phone conversation where we discuss your home environment, lifestyle, expectations, and long-term goals for your future dog. These conversations help us understand the kind of companion you are hoping to add to your life. While our puppies are growing, we observe them closely every day. We pay attention to energy level, temperament, environmental reactions, confidence, and overall personality. We also conduct structured evaluations that help us better understand how each puppy processes the world around them. Throughout this process, we are continually considering the families on our list and thoughtfully evaluating which puppy will thrive in which home. Every puppy deserves a home where they will be understood, supported, and able to succeed. Matching the right puppy with the right family helps ensure a lifetime of stability and happiness for both. We believe not just our families should be happy but our dogs too! Not every puppy is built the same. Some will thrive in active homes where they can work, retrieve, and stay busy. Others are naturally more relaxed and will flourish as loyal companions in a family environment. Our goal is not simply to place puppies. Our goal is to create lasting partnerships between the right dog and the right home, where both the family and the dog can thrive."

Great experience -- highly communicative, she flew the dog to us in Michigan, gave good guidance to get us off the ground. And best of all, Scout (Quiver) has been a terrific, well-tempered dog!

We lost our best furry friend July 5th 2025. It was one of the hardest days of our life. Like loosing a family member. Well after that there was a giant hole in our hearts and we just knew that we had to fill it. We came across Knotty Creek because my husband had Labs as a kid and we decided that was the kind of puppy that we wanted. After seeing Stellaluna’s 6 week old picture on Bailey’s website all wrapped up in a pink blanket we were SOLD! You can say Love at first sight working with Bailey throughout the adoption process was wonderful. She called us back right away and gave us updates on her and told us how to prepare for her at home and for her long car ride home. We just Love Stellaluna she could not be a better puppy so smart and sweet. We still communicate with Bailey and send her pictures and updates. I highly recommend Knotty Creek labradors as a place for you to get your new puppy!

Bailey was very responsive and knowledgeable about the process, plus willing to offer additional advice as needed. Having picked up my pup from her property and having the chance to meet his mom, River, it comes as no surprise that my little guy is happy, healthy and confident after seeing how he was raised for his first stretch of life. I don’t know how she handles it and manages to get a good night’s sleep, but I highly recommend working with Bailey!

Bailey was great to work with and had all the answers to my questions. She was very responsive and I really could tell how much she cared about placing her puppies with a good fit and not just selling a dog. She made my first breeder experience great!

Getting our Labrador puppy from Bailey was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Bailey is clearly a knowledgeable, ethical, and caring breeder who truly loves her dogs. From our first conversation, she was responsive, transparent, and happy to answer every question I had. She also had detailed and thoughtful questions and spent ample time to ensure I was the right fit for Sarge. Our puppy is healthy, happy, and has the sweetest temperament—clearly raised with lots of love, attention, and proper socialization. You can tell Bailey puts an incredible amount of care into her breeding program. She provided helpful guidance, updates, and support, which made bringing our puppy home smooth and stress-free. We felt confident and excited every step of the way. If you’re looking for a Labrador breeder who is trustworthy, compassionate, and dedicated to raising amazing dogs, I can’t recommend Bailey highly enough. We are so grateful for our new family member!
