Meet the breeder

I'm Tina H., the breeder behind KontryKritterz Yorkies located in Gatesville, TX. We raise in a multigenerational home, socializing our pups throughout their time with children and other animals. Many have become ESA or service animals and reside around the world. Our AKC pups are small to standard size and all receive very through vet exams. *New* ask about special qualified discounts.

Q. & A. with Tina

  • Why did you start breeding?

My passion for animals started at a young age. My love for animals eventually led me to start breeding Shelties and Nubian goats. Our family started taking bottle babies and got our first Yorkies and were hooked! After taking a break and focusing on training mine for service dogs and going to Germany, I found myself missing the little baby paws around the house. Now raise companions for you.
  • What makes your program special?

We strive for the personality that we would love to have in our household forever. We have several service dogs and have had ESA also. Most are naturally concerned for their people. So we focus on health first then personality and training abilities. Most all end up having Emotional support abilities naturally and are great companions. Our dogs are Wisdom DNA health tested for optimum pairing.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and gold and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

God has perfect timing, and finding Tina was just that. God’s perfect timing and a true blessing. Tina cares greatly for her furry babies and vets the potential new owners, and my family and I were honored to have been chosen by her to take Zsa Zsa home. Tina came into my life when I had just recently lost my service animal and baby. We met Tina and her family in Gatesville to pick Zsa Zsa up on our way home to Seattle. It was a joy meeting her, her family, and Zsa Zsa’s family. Her other pups were all well-behaved around the children and us, who were total strangers. Tina knew we had a long drive home and sent us off with a care package to ensure Zsa Zsa’s health, safety, and well-being. She took the time to train me and my family on the dos and don’ts, including how to groom. Zsa Zsa is a sweetheart, very smart, and loving. We bonded immediately. On the ride home, she felt comfortable with the rest of the family. Because of Tina’s training, care package, and how she socialized Zsa Zsa, she transitioned beautifully. Upon arrival, she took to our other furry babies as if she had known them all along. Zsa Zsa came with the mentality of a service dog. We picked her up on 4/11/25, and she is already working as my service animal, and I take her everywhere. Although at home she is a playful puppy still in training, in public, she is welcoming, quiet, and well-behaved. She knows that she is working. So far, in less than a month, she has travelled with me on an airplane and on road trips. She accompanies me everywhere: staff meetings, children and youth programs, church, and restaurants. She is a very well-behaved service animal and a loving new addition to our family. Tina and I were in contact throughout the process and continue to stay in touch. I thank God for His perfect timing in meeting Tina and invite you to get to know her too. I pray that you, too, are privileged, as we were, to take one of her puppies home. I’m forever grateful, Maggie Navarro.

It was wonderful working with Tina. She answered all of my questions with quick response times. You can tell her pups get the absolute best love and care. We were able to get two brothers and we are in love with them. It’s evident she worked hard to socialize them to all ages. They get along with our entire household including my 10 month old grandson. They are calm, lovable and overall great well mannered pups. When we met to get them she provided a wealth of knowledge on how to care for them and even after, we have still been in touch when I have any questions. She is a top tier breeder and human. Thank you to Good Dog for connecting me with Tina and making the entire process easy for our family. Sincerely, Lisa Gomez

I loved working with Tina to find our new fur-baby. From the very first email I could tell what a warm and caring person I was dealing with. And each additional email only reenforced that good feeling. I was looking for a female Yorkie and Tina had five for me to choose from. I picked Paisley as my choice and Tina suggested Gina as a possibility. I didn’t want to select my puppy from a picture online so Tina was very understanding and let my husband and I go to visit. I was so impressed with all her dogs. They were all very well behaved from the senior dogs to the parent dogs and down to the new puppies. Tina’s socializing skills are nothing but amazing. Her pets are friendly with loving personalities. Tina is full of so much useful knowledge that she willingly shared with us. We sincerely enjoyed meeting and working with Tina, her family and her furry family. I would highly recommend Tina to anyone looking for a Yorkie. We absolutely love our adorable, perfect new family member - Rylee. Rylee is everything we were looking for and maybe a little more.
