Meet the breeder

I'm Claudia R., the breeder behind Krazy Island Shih Tzu located in Mountain View, HI. We breed high-quality puppies. We love what we do and are committed to producing well-bred, healthy puppies for loving homes. The loyalty and loving disposition of this breed are simply the best! We put a great deal of effort into raising our litters to ensure our puppy families will have the best experience raising their new family members.

Q. & A. with Claudia

  • Why did you start breeding?

I come from a family of dog breeders as my parents bred dogs while I was growing up. I have been breeding dogs myself for over 20 years. I have been exclusively breeding Shih Tzu in the state of Hawaii since 2018. I absolutely fell in love with the breed after rescuing a Shih Tzu and learning more about the breed. I can't imagine my life without the love of a Shih Tzu.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are a huge part of our family and although our pups are raised in our home, we also work hard to ensure that they get off to a great start. To ensure that they have the best beginnings, our puppies go through a comprehensive curriculum tailored to their age. This provides them with the skills and aptitude to integrate into new homes with ease.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, liver, blue, silver, liver and white, brindle and white, black and white, gold and white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Pay over time with Klarna.

“Puppies come with a one-year health guarantee, provided on a spay/neuter contract. Pups come microchipped, with up-to-date vaccinations, a travel carrier, a blanket that smells like home, a collar, a leash, a few of their favorite toys, and a small bag of their current food. If you reserve a specific puppy, your reservation fee secures that puppy until they are ready for their forever home. Pups are ready for homes once they reach at 8+ weeks old and at least 2lbs in weight. If you reserve a puppy from a future litter, your reservation fee secures your place in line to choose a puppy. In the event that you don't find a suitable pup from the available pups, your position will be held forward to future litters until you find the perfect match. Please note that reservation fees are non-refundable and are valid for one year (or longer if you maintain regular communication with me).”

Contract & health guarantee

Claudia may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Claudia offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Claudia directly.
