I'm Tracy G., the breeder behind Kyrie Shetland Sheepdogs located in La Porte City, IA. I have been involved with shelties since 1979, working with exceptional breeders. I strive for healthy and happy dogs that represent the standard. All of my breeding dogs are health tested and are either AKC champions or on their way.

    I worked for one of the top sheltie breeders in the midwest and got the bug.
  • What makes your program special?

    Accountability, attention to detail, home raised, happy, healthy puppies and adults.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include blue merle and white, blue merle white and tan, black and white, and black white and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Tracy

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $1,800 - $3,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), DNA Disease Panel, von Willebrand Disease III (vWD III), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
