I'm Nyla H., the breeder behind Lake Ridge Border Collies located in Gary, IN. We breed for the drive, structure, temperament, personality, and the ability to overcome obstacles. We raise our dogs and puppies in our home using Early Neurological Stimulation, and Early Scent Introduction. We expose our pups to lots of everyday experiences to better equipped our pups to thrive.

Why did you start breeding?
I was raised on a farm with working Border Collies and grew a strong passion for them and their working capabilities. That love and admiration for the breed inspired me to start my program.What makes your program special?
We focus on working capabilities, drive, structure, temperament, health, and purpose. We try to give our puppies the very best we can offer. We look forward to connecting you with your Border Collie pup!What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle, red merle, black, blue, gold, lilac, red, sable, and slate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
Getting a puppy from Nyla
Nyla has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

About Tenno
Gold/White Easy going, playful, gentle but fierce, started on livestock, great recall, overall good boy! Tenno has a medium drive. Always willing to work but understands when work is done it time to calm down. He is best friends with my youngest son. They do everything together. Tenno has a high toy drive and is locked onto any toy you play with him. He strives to please and enjoys lots of tummy rubs!

Ember is a spunky playful girl. She likes to walk infront of you and stop to demand pets. She tries to be sneaky and follow you without being noticed. She seems to really enjoy riding on ATV's. Quads make her a bit scared unless she is sitting in a seat with a backing. Ember is a love bug and likes to be close to anyone nearby her. She doesn't understand what personal space is! Ember loves car rides and everyone she meets!

Both my current dogs are from Nyla, Apollo black and white born July 2021 and most recently, Cherry Blossom born March 2025. She had Apollo trained for fetch from birth and he was competent at 8 weeks and he's great at it now. Just recently received Blossom (red and white) and she's everything Nyla said she would be. Smart and attentive and a perfect companion to Apollo. She sent many pics during times they were born until 8 weeks. Will definitely get another puppy from her if she's still doing this ~12 years from now. :-)

+8we gotKoda around 6 weeks ago and it’s been absolutely amazing. Nyla was very responsive and helped us every step of the way. if anyone is considering picking up their baby through i flight nanny i 100% recommend. there were constant updates and the flight nanny was sure Koda was safe and comfortable. this whole process was smooth and easy and Koda was the perfect addition to our family. he is very good with other dogs but a bit shy with new people which is understandable. Nyla had made our experience better than expected and i’m so glad we made the right decision

Nyla is very knowledgeable about the breed. She performed neurostimulation training with her puppies since they are 1 week old which makes them highly adaptable to various interactions with humans, unknown subjects, environment. I picked my puppy, Sofie, today. Sofie is outgoing, curious, confident puppy who loves interacting with humans. She is calm and has a great, gentle temperament. When Sofie is tired, she falls asleep by one of my family members. Sofie is 8 weeks old and we picked her today. This is her first day in our house but she does not cry at all. Nyla sent many pictures of puppies every week. Her puppies are healthy and well taken care of. If I had a question, I sent text message to Nyla, and Nyla responded to me right away. I highly recommend Nyla as a breeder. I do not know any other breeder who invest so much time and energy in rising puppies.
