I'm Jill G., the breeder behind Lakeshore Dachshunds located in Jordan, AR. We reside on a beautiful 30 acre property with a large lake; our dachshunds have freedom to roam (supervised) and have a wonderful life. Our pups are AKC registered; parents and pups are healthy and thriving. The pups are hand-reared with love and affection in our home.
Q. & A. with Jill
Why did you start breeding?
As retirement age approached I was looking for a way to supplement my income so that I did not have to continue to work full-time (plus overtime) and could do a bit more relaxing and enjoying the things that I love, including animals and nature. Our property is a little slice of heaven and each animal adds to my feelings of contentment and serenity.
What makes your program special?
Small scale, animals raised in my home with lots of attention and love. I may not have the experience of the long-time breeders, but I have a long background of raising these dogs as my own pets and with a medical background and an MBA, I have knowledge of critical concepts, plus have researched dog genetics in order to produce healthy, thriving puppies. (business FB acct yet to be established).
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream, red, black, and chocolate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Jill was great. She answered my questions quickly. When I met her to pick up my puppy you could tell she really loved her and kind of hated to let her go. She took pictures and asked that I keep her updated about the puppy, which I have named Gwen. She was correct about Gwen's personality which helped me know this was the puppy I wanted. Her price is much more reasonable than most which allowed me to be able to purchase Gwen. I have had longhaired daschunds since 1968, but when I lost my last one in 2016 most breeders prices had put them out of my range. Finding Jill was a blessing in so many ways. I greatly recommend dealing with Jill.
