I'm Marsha T., the breeder behind Lakeside Doxies located in Lake Mary, FL. We are a home breeder specializing in Embark tested dogs for people who want miniature dachshund puppies.   • Why did you start breeding?

    I grew up with dachshunds in Orlando. I think my mom decided the small dogs were all she could handle with six kids and a dad in the Air Force. I kept up the tradition with my kids - smooth coat Casey - later a smooth red Casey stayed with us for 18 years. 3 years ago my travel nurse daughter need to pay for her NP classes and we started breeding to help her graduate without student debt. She did. And we realized as a family this was a fun and rewarding home hobby. We only breed 3 times a year and focus on providing the pups with the best home environment---- so they are completely at home in your new home.

  • What makes your program special?

    We are flexible on delivery. Some options: You can pick up at our home in Lake Mary after the 8 week vet check. You can fly into Orlando/Sanford airport and we will meet you there for a puppy handoff:) We are not fans of commercial pet transports & would prefer not to use them.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include cream, red, chocolate, fawn (isabella) and tan, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Marsha

Marsha has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Marsha partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $2,100 - $4,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Contract & health guarantee

Marsha may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     We recently brought home our 9 week old puppy from Lakeside Doxies and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Our puppy adjusted so quickly once we got home. He has such a sweet, gentle personality and has been incredibly well behaved. He even slept through the first few nights and has not had any accidents, which really shows the great care and early work that was put into raising him. Like most dachshunds, he definitely loves attention, but we enjoy every bit of it. He is affectionate, curious, and has already brought so much happiness into our home. Pickup day was simple and organized. She met us outside, walked us through all of the paperwork, and made sure everything was clear before we left. She also sent us home with a generous bag of goodies and toys. The toys quickly became our puppy’s favorites, which helped him settle in right away. We are so happy with our new little guy and very grateful for the care that went into raising him.
