I'm Rachel M., the breeder behind Lakeway Farms located in Morristown, TN. Lakeway Farms focuses on breeding a true companion dog. Our dogs are family dogs that are socialized around children, small animals, and farm life. Each puppy is exposed to a variety of family and social situations making them well rounded and ready to meet the world.

Why did you start breeding?
We fell in love with Weimaraners through my soul dog, Willow. She showed us love like no other dog had shown us before. We wanted others to experience this as well. After learning the ins and outs of breeding large dogs, we moved on to dachshunds and fell just as in love with Penny and Gizmo. Then once we moved onto a farm we discovered the Australian Shepherd and fell in love with Gus and Madi.What makes your program special?
We love our dogs like family. We only have one active breeding pair at a time and our retired dogs still live with us. They live the best lives they can on our farm and are with us until thier last day.What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Australian Shepherd puppies include black & white, red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Dachshund puppies include black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

We got our boy yesterday. My daughter met Rachel to get him. My husband and I are in Florida for the winter, but my daughter will be flying down for Christmas so it won’t be too long before we have him. I want to thank Rachel for promptly answering my questions via text. She sent us pictures of him as he grew to keep us informed. I can highly recommend her as a breeder. Our boy was everything that we wanted, healthy, beautiful, playful. Thank you Rachel!
