Meet the breeder

I'm Chantelle M., the breeder behind Larson’s Legacy Aussome Aussie Kennels located in Durand, WI. We are a small, family run business located on 65 rolling acres in Durand WI. We take great care and pride in matching the perfect canines together in our effort to produce superior quality pups that grow into a versatile, calm, happy and healthy family, companion or therapy animals!

Q. & A. with Chantelle

  • Why did you start breeding?

I pursued it on my own. Due to my love of dogs and passion to see them succeed in their new homes all of my puppies are raised fully indoors and 100% crate trained before they go home. They are also mostly potty trained and have already completed an introductory course on beginners obedience. I wanted to work with further developing the ‘nonworking’ Aussie.
  • What makes your program special?

Our volunteer therapy program working with the elderly and disabled in our community. We also spend a tremendous amount of time training, socializing and behavior shaping our puppies before they go home. We wanted to contribute to the ‘nonworking’ Aussie movement - specifically breeding Aussies that retain all of their amazing characteristics but lowering the energy and herding drives.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Chantelle was incredible! We’ve never had a puppy so well prepared for the transition home. Maple’s personality and demeanor are exactly what our family needed. I’m blown away by the care and thoughtfulness that Chantelle brings her dogs, both puppies and parents alike.

Chantelle made sure our Baloo was WELL taken care of and set up for nothing but success upon transitioning to our family. I would vouch for her and the Aussies bred there any day! When the time is right I am sure we will be going back for another Aussie!
