Meet the breeder

I'm Laurie Z., the breeder behind Laurie & Joe's Labs located in Concord, NH. We are a family owned and operated breeder who exclusively breeds Labrador Retrievers. All of our dogs reside in our large home with us and enjoy exercising in their fully fenced 2 acre play yard. We are of the belief that the dogs in our breeding program should enjoy a comparable life to the puppies they give us. All of the dogs in our breeding program are health tested to the highest standard( receiving a CHIC number from the OFA). We also only breed dogs with excellent temperaments. You can find our dogs in the show ring, competitive obedience ring, and competing in hunt tests. Their puppies have gone on to be working service dogs, ESAs, facility dogs, hunting companions, compete in sports such as dock diving, and are beloved family companions. The feedback that we receive from our puppy families consistently is that our puppies are very easy to live with in the home.

Q. & A. with Laurie

  • Why did you start breeding?

It has been my dream upon retirement from a very successful nursing career to develop a breeding program of Labradors so others can enjoy one of these wonderful dogs. This is a breed who can truly do it all!
  • What makes your program special?

At Laurie and Joe's Labs, our goal is to provide our clients with concierge service. Our clients get the best of both worlds. We believe in having only one litter at any given time. This allows the puppies to receive individualized attention and early contact with humans which enables them to quickly adapt to their new homes. We begin their socialization at birth and continue their training at their developmental milestones so they are prepared to go out into the world when they leave us. To ease the transition between our home and yours, our puppies are introduced to crate conditioning and house training. Because we think early training is so important, we send each puppy home with a lifetime membership to Baxter&Bella online dog training which is included in the price of the puppy. Besides being raised on our unique puppy curriculum, we assess each puppy for their individual temperamental traits at 53 days of life. We video tape these evaluations and provide a written report. Our goal is to provide as much information on each puppy to our puppy families.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
