Meet the breeder

I'm Katie and Donnie L., the breeder behind Laur's Classic Corgis located in Snellville, GA. We raise our dogs in our home right alongside our family. We love being able to match our puppies with families that are the perfect fit for their personalities and lifestyle.

Q. & A. with Katie and Donnie

  • Why did you start breeding?

Katie worked a Vet office while in college and also volunteered her time to oversee operations at a rural animal shelter. We have fostered dog's and puppies over the past 25 years which made the transition to breeding natural. We both have a deep love of dogs and enjoy connecting families for a lifelong friendship through dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

With over 25 years in dog rescue we are focused on creating the perfect family pet. That includes extensive DNA testing for possible genetic disorders as well as a heavy focus on temperament. We follow the Super Puppy training protocol to give all of our puppies a head-start on becoming the best family member possible. We also send our babies home with AKC and Microchip reg. already done.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include fawn, red, sable, blue, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

The Laurs have truly bred amazing dogs. My Bennett came home in May and has been an absolute joy. I had prepared for the worst of puppyhood but have been blown away by how easy he has been. Bennett was crate trained in 2 days! He is incredibly smart and knows many tricks. Shockingly he is a very quiet Corgi who rarely barks. Bennett is such a sweet boy who thanks to the Laur’s and their early socialization, does very well with children and other dogs. I’ve gotten so many compliments on how well behaved he is. I was also told he was the cutest corgi and bestest boy at his vet (but don’t tell the other corgis 😂😅). I am so thankful to have found the Laurs and would recommend their corgis to everyone!

Katie and Donnie were great communicators and kept us in the loop on the progress of their litter. They helped us pick our puppy Claudia and we’re so happy with our decision to adopt with them. I would recommend them to anyone interested in adopting. They are ethical, professional, and extremely considerate of both the puppies and their parents.

Our experience with Katie and Donnie was exemplary to say the least. We were matched early on with Burt (Little Wendall) and fell in love instantaneously. The Laur’s did a great job of accommodating our preferences and matched us to the puppy of our dreams. They were communicative and kind through the entire process and kept us up to date on all of our pup’s early progress. Even our beloved vet complimented the advice and guidance we received from the Laur’s in regard to Corgi care. He has been the most incredible addition to our family and it is evident that the care and love given to Burt in his early days will have a lasting impression. We are so grateful to the Laur’s and have already recommended several friends and family interested in a Corgi of their own. If you’re unsure, this is your sign to go with Laur’s Classic Corgis!

Katie and her family did an outstanding job birthing and raising our puppy. She came to us at nine weeks with what seems like a remarkable amount of socialization; we had a thunderstorm the day after we got her home, and not a peep. She has played well with other dogs, is tremendously gentle (for an energetic puppy, of course), and she even came preloaded with a "sit" command. She is inquisitive, confident, and adjusted to our home tremendously quickly. During the first week of take home, Katie was great with communication and tips/advice for adjusting her food and other small miscellaneous things that came up. I would not hesitate to seek out Katie and Donnie again, the future.

We had such a fantastic experience with Katie. She made the process so seamless and easy. I appreciated the frequent fun updates she provided about the puppies as they grew up! We absolutely love our corgi girl. She is adorable, full of personality, and the perfect addition to our little family!
