Q. & A. with Leah
Why did you start breeding?
Growing up we had a beautiful black lab that we all adored, and that is what sparked my love of Labrador Retrievers. We started with the purchase of our lovely Yellow Lab, Haisley and have since expanded by bringing in three other labs.
What makes your program special?
We are family run and every new dog is instantly part of the family. All of our dogs meet OFA Health testing requirements to ensure ethical breeding practices.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Labrador Retriever puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Dilute Retriever puppies are silver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Haisley, mom
Labrador Retriever
About Haisley
Haisley is a female Labrador Retriever. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Leah decided to make her part of their program. Leah has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
LC Hunting Labs, LLC. reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Labrador Retrievers.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), DNA Disease Panel, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
