Meet the breeder

I'm Felix V., the breeder behind Lecanto Puppy located in Lecanto, FL. As a home-based breeder, I focus on raising puppies with excellent health, structure, and temperament. Every litter is planned with care, and each puppy is raised in a loving environment with early socialization. My goal is to provide families with dogs that are not only beautiful but also stable, loyal, and ready to become lifelong companions.

Q. & A. with Felix

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding while searching for a service dog for a family member. Through that journey, I realized how difficult it was to find puppies with the right temperament. That’s when I knew I could make a difference. I combined my grooming background, experience with dogs, and passion for helping people — and started raising dogs that are not only beautiful but capable of changing lives.
  • What makes your program special?

I don’t breed for trends — I breed with purpose. My program is centered on temperament, structure, and early development. Puppies are exposed to different sounds, surfaces, people, and environments through intentional socialization and stimulation. Each litter is carefully planned, and every puppy is evaluated to make sure they’re a great match for their future family. Whether as a loving companion or a potential service dog, I raise dogs that are stable, attentive, and full of heart.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies are standard size. Poodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies include tri-color and phantom. Bernese Mountain Dog puppies include tri-color and black rust and white. Poodle puppies include sable, apricot, black, blue, brown, cafe au lait, cream, red, gray, silver, silver-beige, white, parti, phantom, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Felix was very responsive to any inquiries that we had in a timely manner. Although our puppy was unofficially named "buzz", Felix interacted with the litter with "puppy". That was important to us as we named him "Max". Max is a beautiful puppy with a great temperament, bonding to us instantly. We intend to further his training as a service dog and to hopefully have him be able to provide visits to the elderly confined to a senior citizens home.

Felix was very responsive and brought the two puppies we were interested in to a local park to meet them! He was very knowledgeable and very nice and straightforward. The puppy that we got from him is perfect and is already so well behaved! You can tell she came from a great home/breeder because of how well taken care of and happy she is. Highly recommend Lecanto Puppy for a Bernedoodle!

All I can say is what a class act Felix is. From the very first conversation, he was quick to respond and patient with all of my questions, even late in the evening. That level of dedication really stood out to me. You can immediately tell how much he and his family care for their puppies, not just in how well they are raised, but in how much effort they put into making sure each one is placed with the right family. The whole process was smooth, honest, and enjoyable. Felix took the time to explain everything and made me feel completely comfortable and excited about bringing my puppy home. My dog has been phenomenal—healthy, smart, and such a wonderful companion. It’s amazing to see the difference in quality and temperament that comes from a breeder who truly loves what they do. I couldn’t be happier with my experience. Thank you, Felix, for making this such a positive and memorable journey. Lecanto Puppies sets the bar high, and I’m grateful to have found them!
