Meet the breeder

I'm Holly B., the breeder behind Legacy Ranch Australian Shepherds located in Parker, CO. We want our puppies set up for a sucessful and healthy life both through good breeding and good handling. Our dogs live with us on a small ranch and they are out with us all day everyday with horses, equipment and general ranch life as well as relaxing inside!

Q. & A. with Holly

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got into breeding 25 years ago when we fell in love with the breed. We have been blessed with repeat customers over the years and we love watching our dogs grow up with their new families.
  • What makes your program special?

We are committed to breeding family friendly Aussies that love to be with their people. We try to ensure, to the best of our abilities, that the dogs are healthy and happy both genetically and physically. We test all our personally owned dogs for genetic issues as well as physical (hip and elbow displasia and so forth)
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

I talked to three breeders when we were considering an Aussie puppy. Holly at Legacy Ranch Australian Shepherd’s was so friendly and responsive, she quickly earned our trust. We especially liked that once we paid our deposit, we were put in a queue to spend time with the puppies and select the one that best fit our family. All the puppies were so special and gentle, very loving. We knew it would hard to pick just one! In our case, little Sierra walked right over and picked us! ❤️ Two weeks after we picked our puppy, we were able to bring her home. Sierra is just the sweetest girl! She’s already fitting into our family after less than a week, and she loves her big brother Finn. The packet of info Holly provided has been very helpful. This has been a fantastic experience, and we’ll certainly contact Holly the next time we’re looking for an Aussie puppy!
