In the summer of 2005, our Maltese journey began when we welcomed our beloved boy, Duffy, into our lives. Duffy was not just a pet, he was family. Duffy's presence served as a daily reminder of the incredible bond that exists between humans and dogs. With Duffy, we discovered the true essence of the Maltese breed, and our hearts were forever captivated.What makes your program special?

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

I had a wonderful experience getting our dog, Mochi. Ilija was very responsive to my emails, answered my many questions, and was very accommodating on where I wanted to meet to pick up Mochi. Mochi came with all of his health records, and Ilija gave complete instructions from what foods to eat to grooming care and supplies. Mochi was in perfect health at his first vet appointment and has been going strong since. He has the biggest personality in such a small body. He is the perfect new family member who gets along with our two cats, two kids, and visitors to the house. He is very interested in the dogs he meets in our neighborhood, never barking, always curious. We couldn’t be happier that we went through Ilija at Good Dogs and found Mochi.
