I'm Leslie M., the breeder behind Leslie's Poodles located in Ruskin, FL. We enjoy showing and competing in performance events with our dogs. They are our companions in every adventure. We do all we can to give our dogs & pups the best lives. Our mission is to breed the very best dogs, true to the breed; to raise them with love; and to select their future homes with careful attention.

Why did you start breeding?
As a young adult, I got into breeding Miniature Schnauzers. In about 1990 I purchased my first Giant Schnauzer and proceeded to get into showing which lead to my serious interest in breeding top quality dogs. In 2021 I purchased my first show Poodle and now have focused my efforts on breeding and showing Standard Poodles.What makes your program special?
My program is thoroughly DNA & health tested. We are a small kennel so we are able to give plenty of attention to each and every adult and puppy. We screen our buyers so that our puppies can enjoy the best possible life. My program is special because each of my breeders is first my FRIEND, my COMPANION, my LOVE.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable, parti, phantom, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Parent health testing

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Leslie is an outstanding breeder. Since the moment I laid eyes on our boy Ferguson and communicated my interest in him, she provided me with ample information, frequent updates and very clear communication. Upon pickup, she provided us with more information, goodies to transition him into his new home and welcomed us with open arms. Feguson is in perfect health, so well behaved and smart, and you can tell he was been well loved since day one.
