I'm Teri T., the breeder behind Lil Britches Yorkies located in Crossville, TN. We are a small enough program that we are able to thoroughly focus on each individual dog and puppy and their needs. Our puppy tails are docked according to AKC’s standard which states “Yorkies should have their tails docked to a medium length”, NOT a tiny stub. We take pride in the time and dedication we give to every litter.

Why did you start breeding?
My dad raised and showed toy poodles while I was growing up. I helped my dad during the whelping process and learned by doing. I also showed a black toy poodle of my own and actually started beating him and his champion apricot girl!
What makes your program special?
I’ve spent lots of time researching Yorkshire Terriers after I bought my first female in 1985. Took my time to purchase quality bred males and females to launch my own breeding program. My babies are raised with love and socialized early in preparation of going to their new homes.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include chocolate and tan, parti, black and tan, and black and gold. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Getting a puppy from Teri

Teri has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Teri partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $600 non-refundable deposit and between $900 - $2,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes tail docked, removal of dew claws, 1st shots, deworming, & 1 yr health guarantee. Puppies are potty pad trained and well socialized when they go to their new homes at 8-10 wks old. Deposit is only refundable if something happens to the puppy before you physically adopt it. The deposit is deducted from the total price at pick up. My puppies sell super fast so a deposit is recommended.”

Teri may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Chocolate Yorkies are recognized by the American Kennel Club, and they are still considered a rare color variation. Breeders must carefully select their breeding pairs to ensure that the TYRP1 gene is not overrepresented in the gene pool, which can lead to health problems. I spent 2 years finding just the right chocolate pair to breed, eliminating any health issues.
