Meet the breeder

I'm Kayla H., the breeder behind Lilyoaks Australian Shepherds located in Elizabethtown, KY. At Lilyoaks Australian Shepherds, our priorities are versatility, temperament, and health. We strive to preserve the integrity of our breed with public involvement and education, engagement in dog sports, and breed mentor relationships. We aim to share our love for this incredible breed.

Q. & A. with Kayla

  • Why did you start breeding?

I wanted to share my passion for this biddable, active, loving breed with others. I take careful consideration when breeding to blend the perfect amount of drive, good structure, and temperament for my families. Raising each litter to be sound, engaged, healthy, and adaptable is really enjoyable for me.
  • What makes your program special?

I spend countless hours with all of my dogs myself. I train each of my dogs individually, and I compete with my own dogs. I put the same time and love into each litter that I produce, and I do not breed very often. Each litter is planned with versatility, health, and temperament in mind, and I ensure each puppy is raised with the most socialization, exposure, and love possible.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
