Meet the breeder

I'm Joy (., the breeder behind Little Gems Biewer Terriers located in Charlottesville, VA. It’s our goal to help ensure the future of the breed through responsibly breeding our exceptional dogs. We dearly love this breed and are proud to be doing our part as a breeder. Trough DNA testing and our 8 week socialization program we ensure that our puppies are healthy and happy members of your family.

Q. & A. with Joy

  • Why did you start breeding?

Having bred alpacas, breeding guard dogs and herding dogs was a natural part of alpaca ranching. After retiring from ranching, my love for the dogs led me on a search for a breed into which I could pour my energy. Biewer Terriers are just so unique that they stole my heart.
  • What makes your program special?

Our grand champion foundation sire, Flash, carries wonderful European genetics. We matched him with equally superior females. We endeavor to produce puppies that will have both a beautiful appearance and excellent health, so that they will bless their families for many years.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black tan and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
