Meet the breeder

I'm Kendra H., the breeder behind Little Legs Legacy located in West Plains, MO. The health of our dachshunds is our number one priority! All of our adults have been genetically tested. We also strongly believe in raising well-socialized pups, this means we spend quality time with our babies to ensure they are happy and comfortable in a home environment.

Q. & A. with Kendra

  • Why did you start breeding?

Shortly after I met my husband, I found out his mother raised miniature dachshunds. It wasn't long after that I began helping her care for her sweet fur babies. One of my favorite parts was getting to help socialize the puppies! Fast forward to today - I have my own dachshunds and thoroughly enjoy helping families find their own furry companions!
  • What makes your program special?

Our breeding program is special because we prioritize health, temperament, and socialization. All of our adults are genetic tested and have exceptional personalities! Socialization is our top priority when it comes to our puppies to ensure they have a smooth transition into their new homes.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Kendra truly goes above and beyond in every aspect of raising and caring for her puppies. From the moment I contacted her, I could tell she was passionate and dedicated to ensuring each puppy is given the best possible start in life. She is incredibly attentive to her puppies' socialization, exposing them to children, various household noises, the outdoors, and other dogs. This thoughtful approach ensures that the puppies grow up to be well-adjusted, friendly, and confident. She responds quickly to messages and provides frequent updates with pictures and videos, which allowed me to watch my puppy grow and develop. Another standout aspect was how accommodating she was with the logistics of travel. She worked with me to arrange a seamless airport drop-off for my puppy and made sure I had all the necessary supplies for the journey, making the transition as smooth as possible. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my experience. It’s rare to find a breeder who is so committed to the well-being of their puppies and so dedicated to their new families.
