I'm Katrina K., the breeder behind Little Lion Puppies located in Carthage, MO. It is our joy to spend the first 8 weeks of your pups life with them! Puppies are given 24-7 care inside our home, and mom and dad are our “children”, and spoiled rotten. With each pup we offer the option to purchase an additional care package to ensure a great transition into your home.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    After my beloved Sheltie, Kloie became ill at the age of 12, I knew I needed someone to help my heart heal from losing her. I fell in love with Shih Tzus when researching hypoallergenic dog breeds that are able to train for service for my autoimmune disease. We chose our Rory & Luna which started our journey then decided to devote ourselves to the breed and to help others find their fur babies.

  • What makes your program special?

    We treat each pup as if it were part of our “pack”. The whelping pin is beside our bed so I am with them constantly weeks 1-3. Week 4 they move to a larger pin where they receive devoted attention, neuro-stimulation, interaction with other dogs, and rabbits. We begin potty and basic obedience training. We limit ourselves to 1 litter at a time ensuring our dedication to each furbaby.

Getting a puppy from Katrina

Katrina has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $350 non-refundable deposit and between $750 - $1,150 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“This price includes first round of vaccinations, puppy checkup, deworming, bag of puppy food, and of course - your baby with a 1 year genetic health guarantee. Deposit is non- refundable unless genetic health condition. In this case deposit can be applied to another pup for following liter- or refunded.”

Contract & health guarantee

Katrina may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Katrina from Little Lion Puppies is a wonderful breeder. We were looking for a brindle female and my daughter found the perfect puppy at Little Lion Puppies. We were hesitant because they were very far away but she was what we wanted for so long. So we reached out and having had several litters myself understand what breeders go through and Katrina gave us the utmost respect and consideration in finding our new best friend. She kept us updated all the way through and went out of her way to make our experience better than we could ever imagine.     Saying goodbye to our dog of 13 years last month was the hardest thing we’ve been through yet. Before finding Katrina, I contacted a couple of other breeders, neither of which even acknowledged my loss, just got into particulars about what dogs were available. Katrina was different. She touched on our loss, even told me about how it felt to lose her own. She guided me every step of the way, being that this was our first experience with a breeder. Katrina asked me to send a shirt with all of our scents on it to our puppy so he could become familiar with us. She even started calling him the name we picked out so he’d know his name. She went above and beyond and we can tell she took such great care of our dog.
