Meet the breeder

I'm Maggie T., the breeder behind LittleBear Poodles located in Sharon, CT. At LittleBear Poodles, we offer intelligent, affectionate, fun and adorable Toy Poodles to loving and caring homes. Health and personality are our first priorities. It is our goal to bring you affectionate & highly entertaining canine companions that you will enjoy living with for many years.

Q. & A. with Maggie

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our first poodle was amazing! He got us hooked on little poodles. All of our poodles have been wonderful companion animals. They have the best personalities and I wanted to share this experience with others.
  • What makes your program special?

We are a small breeding program. We do not produce litters multiple times a year like some of the larger breeding programs. We are able to shower our puppies and parents with constant love and attention. Our puppies are raised with their social, emotional and developmental needs in mind. They are our family and they are loved from day one.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include toy and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include apricot, black, brown, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Maggie

Maggie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $800 non-refundable deposit and between $2,700 - $3,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes AKC registration + 1 month of health insurance and a starter pack of goodies. Puppies are raised in our home with developmental protocols and attention to good nutrition. Deposits are taken when a commitment is made for a puppy, which may be much earlier than the assignment of a specific puppy. Commitments to applicants are not usually made before puppies are about 2 weeks old. Assignments of puppies to families are made once personalities begin to emerge and appropriate matches can be made. Puppies are assigned to families based on many criteria including, but not limited to, the needs and personality of the puppy and their potential fit in a particular family and home environment. We put a great deal of thought and care into assigning the right pup to the right home. For this reason, please understand that your deposit should be considered payment for the “getting-to-know-you” and commitment process, does not guarantee a particular puppy and is non-refundable. If you change your mind for any reason, either during this process or after a puppy has been assigned, your deposit will not be refunded. We reserve the right to decline a puppy placement at any time. If WE choose not to place the puppy in your care for any reason after a commitment is made, your deposit will be refunded.”

Contract & health guarantee

Maggie may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Maggie offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Maggie directly.

We found Maggie shortly after we lost our beloved poodle Toby at age 19, last October. As we were not ready to share our home with another doggie quite yet, Maggie was a perfect fit as she said she hoped to breed her dog in August. The more I read about Maggie’s practices, the more I was convinced I’d found a treasure, which she turned out to be. Lucky was born in September and we brought him home three weeks ago. He is pure joy! Maggie is great to work with and continues to support us whenever we have questions. Her adult dogs on the premises are happy and friendly which says a lot about the environment she creates. We have had a great experience. We highly recommend Maggie Taylor/Little Bear Poodles!

Anyone who has encountered me in the last year has heard me talk at length about how amazing Maggie (of LittleBear Poodles) is as a person/breeder/all-around human. I was looking for an ethical, compassionate, and highly skilled breeder who would check all the boxes and do everything "correctly" to ensure the health and happiness of the puppies from before they were even born. I was also adamant about avoiding a puppy mill or a backyard breeder pretending to be ethical—which was so hard to find (literally everyone was shady online). I'm shocked we actually found someone who exceeded our goals. Our puppy was 11 weeks when we brought him home, and was already halfway potty-trained and knew some basic commands (your mileage may vary lol). I'm in touch with a few of his siblings from different litters, and while all of our dogs have different personalities, they're all incredibly healthy and happy. Truly cannot say enough good things about LittleBear Poodles. I have to fight the urge to adopt a new one every litter!

LittleBear Poodles was such a pleasure to work with every step of the way, and we absolutely love our poodle puppy! Maggie from LittleBear answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with the process. She truly cares about all the dogs involved, and it shows. I highly recommend LittleBear Poodles.

Maggie is the best breeder/puppy whisperer out there. This has been such a positive experience for my mom and I. After losing our dog to a congenital liver disease, Maggie made the transition seamless. We brought home Chip, a miniature poodle, and he knew basic commands, half way potty trained and was social with other animals. Maggie kept in contact and you can tell that she loves what she does and is committed to finding her dogs a great home. I feel comfortable reaching out to Maggie with concerns and look forward to sharing updates for Chip’s milestones. I would recommend Maggie to anyone looking to show love to a little fella.

We purchased our toy poodle, Willoughby, from Maggie Tayor in June of 2022. Maggie was very easy to work with. I was able to speak with her on the phone and she shared videos of the puppies. After we spoke via the phone, I made an appointment and drove to Connecticut to meet Maggie and the puppies. I was able to sit and talk with her and observe the puppies. It was important to Maggie to match the puppies with the potential owner's personality. Maggie raised the litter using a training program called "Puppy Culture". We found Willoughby to be both well-trained and well-socialized. Willoughby has a wonderful personality, and it was easy for us to continue his training. He recently was certified as a therapy dog via Pet Partners. Maggie followed up with us regularly to make sure that all was going well. She is quick to respond whenever I have a question. Willoughby has brought love and joy into my family's life, and I highly recommend Maggie Taylor.
