I'm Laura W., the breeder behind Living Blessed Collies located in Salem, IN. We’re devoted to ensuring there are healthy puppies for others to enjoy and we do so by responsibly growing this incredible breed.   • Why did you start breeding?

    We have bred beagles in the past, but after having Collies we absolutely love them and decided to breed for quality pups.

  • What makes your program special?

    We love our dogs as family and think they are the best in the world! They are smart and loyal and protect our family and our livestock. They are also wonderful kids' dogs! We have tested our dogs for CEA (Collie Eye Anomaly). Our Collies are healthy and happy! We put a lot into our puppies and and do age appropriate training. We start with crate training after weaning and leash and collar. If they are here long enough we start with a couple commands. We want them ready for their new home and we want you happy as well as the puppy. Blessings!

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable merle and white, blue merle and white, black white and tan, and sable and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Laura

Laura has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Laura partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes AKC registration application, first shots and worming, and socialization. You will also have full breeding rights. We guarantee our puppies to be in good health when they leave our home. They will be vet checked. To reserve your puppy, a deposit of $500.00 is required through this secure site (Good Dog). Since the best time to sell the puppies is the first few months, a deposit will discourage change of mind which could compromise salability of the puppy. The remainder is due before the puppy leaves our property. Payments should be made within 1 month.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    After losing my constant and faithful companion for 14 years, I found that I could not move past my grief, and I decided to open my heart to getting another dog. When I landed on Living Blessed Collies, and my eyes fell on little Leo, the feeling was instant – this is the dog for me! I studied Laura’s profile and watched all the videos of the puppies in their joyful play. It is very clear that the puppies are raised to be happy, healthy members of a family. Laura was extremely communicative and answered all my questions. I live out of state, 11 hours away by car, so I was thankful for the option to fly to Louisville Airport to meet with Laura and Leo. What puts Laura and Living Blessed Collies a cut above all the rest is that she and her family prepare their puppies in advance of going to their home by introducing crate training, taking the pups on car rides, socializing them with children and adults, and even preparing them to go on a plane in a carry-on case. When I met with Laura, she sat down with me and reviewed Leo’s schedule, his personality – he LOVES water, gave me excellent advice, and she also assured me that Leo was loved, which is quite evident in Leo’s calm and trusting way. He has been a joy since I took him in my arms. He has so perfectly settled into my home. He is a soft, fluffball of heaven, and I am so grateful to Laura and her family for providing me with this precious companion!

    We are so thankful that we found Laura and her beautiful family of collies. We fell in love in the sweet face of Captain Jack, now Sonny. He is so sweet, smart, loving and cuddly AND healthy. Within 3 days, I think we have already figured out the potty training (which is a huge accomplishment), the command of sitting, crate he is now comfortable in his crate. His biggest accomplishment is: being a mischievous puppy 🐶. We give Laura all of the credit for this adorable, fluffy cuddly puppy. Thank you so much ❤️. She has done amazing job!!

    Laura was great to work with and made the process so smooth! She stayed in touch with updates on vet visits and overall health. I enjoyed seeing the video updates for the litter throughout the process and watching our girl grow.     Laura was super quick to respond and incredibly helpful. You can tell they really care about their dogs. We live 6 hours away, so she tried very hard to answer all our questions and sent us photos/videos to help us choose a pup.     We weren’t looking for a puppy when my daughter asked me what was on my bucket list. I told her I am happy right here on my front porch watching my grands grow, but if there was anything I was missing and had always wanted was a blue Merle collie. I grew up on lassie and have always been a dog and horse girl. My mom had just gone home to Heaven and I had a huge hole in my heart when I just typed in collies on my computer…. And Sunny’s litter popped up and I saw the most beautiful blue Merle girl and it was love at first sight!! Her mom just happened to be as gorgeous as lassie, Laura’s reviews were amazing and even though we already have 3 standard poodles and a bernedoodles on a wheel chair, my husband was all on board to add one more to our pack. Laura and her family were fabulous communicators and pictures and videos were always watched over and over by us and our grands!!! We adore our little Oakley she has been amazing and we are so thankful for finding such an awesome breeder! Hope whoever chooses one of these sweet pups will be as happy as we are.
