I'm Kim R., the breeder behind Longboard Dachshunds located in California. I believe that if you commit to producing dogs of sound structure and take care of their minds and bodies, your pups will grow up to be happy, healthy, and beautiful. I am proud to be raising these wonderful dogs and will always commit to maintaining the highest quality standards for my program.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My love for Dachshunds inspired me to share this amazing breed with the world in a responsible way. It is such an honor to preserve the line of these incredible dogs all the while creating companionship for others. It has been an absolute joy of a journey and I pride myself on helping all of my clients find the right fit for their needs and lifestyle.

  • What makes your program special?

    I run a small, in-home breeding program where I prioritize giving each dog and puppy the best care that I can. I cherish all of my animals and enjoy sharing the love of this wonderful breed with other individuals and families! I have high expectations for my puppies and make sure to place each one in an enriching and loving home that will match their temperament and personality. I love what I do and truly want the very best for my puppies and their forever families.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include cream, red, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Kim

Kim has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Kim partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $2,600 - $3,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Also included are a vet check and first vaccination, a contract with a one-year health guarantee, a goody bag, puppy food, and lifetime breeder support. Deposit is to hold your pup until the time of pick up. If we back out of the sale, the deposit will be reimbursed in full. The deposit goes towards the purchase price of the puppy.”

Contract & health guarantee

Kim may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Kim was so wonderful to work with, and is a caring and a loving breeder. Stevie joined us when she was 8 weeks and is such a sweet girl! We can tell how well taken care of and socialized she was before we picked her up which I heard from friends is critical for this breed or they end up having anxiety and bark a lot. Stevie had wonderful manners as soon as we got her, was pee pad trained, loved her pen at home and routines and her mom’s snuggles blanket at bedtime. We continue to socialize her daily and she loves people and not afraid of other dogs or animals. She gets along well with our German Shepherd and fills our home with so much fun. We credit this to Kim for giving her a strong foundation as a puppy. Kim answered all our questions during the initial interview and made the pick up process easy. She continues to be so responsive to questions with great tips. We would definitely get another mini dachshund from Kim and refer her to our friends and family.
