I'm Shelley E., the breeder behind Loon Lake Labradors located in Lake City, MI. We are dedicated to raising each puppy to be a well adjusted and valuable member of your family. Each pup will come from health tested parents. Each pup starts ens at 3 days old. Let’s chat and see if we can find the right puppy for you!
Q. & A. with Shelley
Why did you start breeding?
We’ve always owned labs as family pets. It wasn’t until a couple years ago that we finally decided to breed. Our dogs have brought our family so much joy and they’re just fun to be around. With having a family as big as ours is, it allows me to stay home with the kids and dogs and earn a little bit of money to help pay the bills…and spoil the dogs…I mean kids!😂
What makes your program special?
We are hands on, from day one with our puppies! We do early neurological stimulation (ENS) this gives your puppy a stronger heartbeat, better adrenal function, more tolerant to stress and greater resistance to disease.
We also do early scent introduction (ESI). It helps puppies with their nose awareness and confidence. Labs LOVE using their noses!
And that’s just for starters!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Sugar, mom
Labrador Retriever
About Sugar
Sugar is a gorgeous Black Lab. She loves everyone. She’s very eager to please. Sugar has completed her health testing. She also has her AKC Canine Good Citizen. She’s a fast learner and enjoys doing agility exercises for fun. She LOVES going to the lake with me and the kids. Sugar has earned her name as she’s our most affectionate dog. She passes out a little sugar to everyone she meets. Ironically she’s pal the best guard dog. Nobody pulls in the driveway without Sugar letting us know. She’s got an awesome balance of all the things you’re looking for in a great dog.

Her nickname is bean..because she’s shaped like a jelly bean!
