I'm Annette L., the breeder behind Lotus Kennels located in Denison, TX. I only show/breed shih Tzu. I work to better the breed. I have a mentor that has been in this breed for over 30 years that continues to teach me about structure, movement, temperament and good breeding practices. I am actively involved in my local club as the secretary and we put on two specialty shows a year, I am also actively involved in my national club on different committees each year. I love this breed and want to see it continue to thrive, be healthy and be the best it can be to the standard.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My big brother had shown our Kerry Blue Terrier as a junior so I thought, hmm maybe we'll do that. At that point I got on AKC to start researching handling and found that local clubs would mentor new handlers so I found that there was a club in Dallas so I contacted them about meetings and went. That is where I found my mentor and it's all history from there. Never thought I would be a breeder and have more than a couple of shih Tzu!

  • What makes your program special?

    My goal is to raise the best Shih Tzu as closest to the standard as possible. I focus on temperament, structure, movement and health.

    They live in my home.
