Meet the breeder

I'm Linda M., the breeder behind LUCKY HAVANESE located in Fielding, UT. We offer top quality AKC Havanese puppies with a focus on health, beauty and temperament. Our dogs are our pride and joy! We raise great companion dogs with parents that are screened for health, conformation and temperament. We want you to be very happy and confident in the puppy you will receive.

Q. & A. with Linda

  • Why did you start breeding?

We lost our Jack Russell dog Bongo when he was 17 years old. He spent his whole life with our family as our children grew up. I realized how big a hole we felt without having him around. I decided to apply my nursing skills to dog breeding. It has been a very emotionally rewarding experience.
  • What makes your program special?

Lucky Havanese endeavors to raise the best puppies we can. We health test our puppies parents. We do not allow pup parents who fail health tests to breed. We love our adult dogs and puppies and we raise them in our home. We follow the Havanese Club of America guidelines to optimize our program, and we health test our parents beyond what they recommend.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and white, white, red, chocolate, black and tan, red sable, and fawn sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Ember is doing amazing!!! The girls named her penny…but I still call her ember 🤩she is fully crate trained and sleeps all night. We have been training her and she is so intelligent. Too smart for her own good! 🤣 she is almost fully potty trained. Hasn’t had her first walk yet, waiting until she is 16 weeks and fully vaccinated. She has been introduced to blueberries, plain peanut butter and Greek yogurt a little bit on her lick plate. Keeps her busy for a little while! She loves to fetch now. Brings us all her toys! We love her!

We had a wonderful experience working with Lucky Havanese, and we are absolutely thrilled with our new puppy! Linda was lovely to work with and so knowledgeable and helpful. She was very quick to respond to all our questions and gave us helpful info about getting our pup adjusted to his new home. He is the sweetest puppy and we are enjoying the heck out of him! :)

Linda was a pleasure to work with from first contact through delivery. She is raising healthy, happy puppies and I would highly recommend finding your next family member with her. She accommodated our request to hold Mochaccino for an additional two weeks while we traveled and sent pictures every week so we could watch him grow. She then met us halfway between her home and ours. We are having a wonderful time with this little bundle of joy. His vet check was perfect, as I knew it would be, with all her testing of the parents. He arrived with plenty of supplies to get him settled, toys, blanket with mom and dad smells, and plenty of food, a bowl, collar and leash. Linda is very responsive to any questions and we’ll keep in touch as our little guy grows.

My whole life changed for the better when Linda showed up at the airport with my puppy, Jasmine. Jasmine is a smart and beautiful little pup. I’ve had so much fun playing with her and getting to know her. A part of me was worried if the puppy would have trouble bonding with me, but quite the contrary. It’s been only about 1 ½ months, and Jasmine still follows me everywhere I go. Linda was a fantastic breeder. She demonstrated a firm knowledge of the health of my puppy. She educated me on many aspects of Jasmine’s life that I had not even considered before bringing her home. Linda was and still is very responsive to all my text messages. I am beyond thankful for Linda and have even referred people to her when they ask a lot of questions about Jasmine. The most impressive thing I found about Linda was when she showed up with all the paperwork for Jasmine’s health records, neatly kept in a binder, shots up-to-date, and I just had absolutely no problems whatsoever working with Linda. I love Jasmine so incredibly much, and I am so thankful to Linda for helping bring so much joy to my life with Jasmine. Our relationship is not over. I will go back to Linda for my next puppy, guaranteed!
