As a small, family breeder, we focus on quality over quantity, ensuring each puppy is happy, healthy, and well-loved before joining their forever family.   • What makes your program special?

    Our breeding program is truly family-centered. Our dachshunds aren’t just pets, they are family. From camping trips, to family outings, our dogs are included. Our puppies grow up surrounded by 3 generations of love, with kids, adults, and elderly. We are passionate about bettering the breed, ensuring each puppy is healthy, happy, and ready for a loving home.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, chocolate, chocolate and cream, chocolate and tan, blue and cream, black and cream, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Melissa & Marissa

Melissa & Marissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $1,800 - $3,100 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Contract & health guarantee

Melissa & Marissa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Melissa & Marissa offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them.   • Cone-Rod Dystrophy (crd4), DNA Coat/Trait Panel, Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Generalized, DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
