I'm Jessica S., the breeder behind Mabel Creek Farm located in Shelby, NC. We do extensive health testing, including PennHIP, OFA Hips, Elbows, and Eyes. A full DNA panel is done on each parent dog we have to ensure no puppy will go home with a disease that could have been prevented. We work tirelessly to condition our pups to be the most adaptable members of their household.

Well, as mother nature would have it, Mabel didn't get pregnant. We have taken some time to consider our options moving forward, and we decided that we will not be attempting another breeding with Mabel. We are moving on our program with her sister, Shelley, after she completes her health testing. Thank you for your continued support!

Mabel has been bred! Stay tuned for pregnancy confirmation on October 27th 😁

Pembroke Welsh Corgi
About Shelley
Shelley is our sweetest girl. She has a perfect temperament that everyone falls in love with. The vet compliments her every time. She is moderately energetic with a low to moderate herding drive. She loves to be pet and loved on, but as soon as the children come over, she is all play. She can be a bit much for toddlers, but that's just from lack of experience on both sides. All her health testing results will be listed as she completes them.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi
About Mabel
Mabel is a strong example of a typical Corgi personality. She has sass and resilience, along with a great sense of humor. She loves to make people laugh and is always doing something silly. She cuddles in bed at night, but during the day she is ready to herd some sheep or chase a trash bunny! She is in training for therapy work, and is excelling in her class.
Excellent health testing
Excellent level
Mabel Creek Farm reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
