Meet the breeder

I'm Carolyn J., the breeder behind Mahmen's Meadow Retrievers located in Hurricane, UT. At Mahmen’s Meadow Retrievers, my puppies are family from their very first breath. They’re raised in my home with love, hands-on care, early socialization and enrichment. My goal is to raise healthy, confident, loving companions ready to bring years of joy to their new families.

Q. & A. with Carolyn

  • Why did you start breeding?

My daughter has bred Golden Retrievers for a number of years and we decided to help each other. I have a great love for my dogs and want to be part of bringing the joy of a dog into a home.
  • What makes your program special?

I raise one litter at a time, allowing me to give each puppy individual attention. Puppies are raised in my home as part of everyday family life and follow a daily enrichment and socialization curriculum, including ENS and ESI. They experience people of different ages, other dogs, sounds, surfaces, and new experiences, helping them grow into confident, well-adjusted companions.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Vet Wellness Exam
