  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    I was introduced to Maitime Dachshunds through a recommendation from a member of the Miami Dachshund Club, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very beginning, Ljubica was incredibly kind, patient, and always willing to answer my many questions. After placing my deposit, she kept me updated every step of the way until the litter was born. I was able to choose Bruno from the litter and loved receiving regular photos and updates on his growth and development before it was time to bring him home. When we picked up Bruno, Ljubica took the time to thoroughly explain the contract, shared invaluable puppy care advice, and reassured us that she would continue to be a resource for our family whenever we needed guidance. Bruno was a surprise for our kids, and bringing him home has been such a special experience. He adjusted incredibly well from day one, and it’s clear that Ljubica put a lot of effort into giving her puppies a great start. Her early potty training has definitely paid off!     It went very well! Ljubica was very informative through the whole process, keept me updated with pictures and videos constantly. She was very informative on my new puppies progress every step of the way. The day of picking up my new puppy she was very organized with paperwork and helpful.     Ljubica was amazing from the very beginning. She was incredibly welcoming and helpful when I first reached out about Remi. You can tell she truly cares about her puppies and how they are raised. During the waiting period before pickup, she would send recommendations and helpful tips on things to have ready, which made the transition much easier for a first-time puppy parent. She was always open to answering questions and, even now that we have Remi, she continues to check in and is happy to help whenever we need advice.
