Meet the breeder

I'm Tricia W., the breeder behind Majestic Touch Kennels and Pet Services located in Forest, VA. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. The loyalty and loving disposition of this breed are simply the best! We put a great deal of effort into raising our litters to ensure our puppy families will have the best experience raising their new family members.

Q. & A. with Tricia

  • Why did you start breeding?

My parents were breeders of doberman and English bulldogs before I was born. I was an only child and raised with many litters. My mother began breeding lahsa apsos when I was young and I always was very interested in the genetic aspect of breeding to specific standards. My mother passed away a few years ago and I wanted to do something in her honor with some of the inheritance she left behind. So I choose to start my own breeding program with Yorkshire Terrier because she had always been very smitten with the breed and I just love them.
  • What makes your program special?

I believe the care and attention we give all of our canine family is what sets us apart. Our goal is always to ensure top quality health and breed standards but the affectionate nature of our dogs is highly encouraged. We begin training from day 1. Every interaction with our pups from birth til they find their forever home is done with intent on building a confident and secure canine companion. We do our part in teaching them and helping them learn how to be their best. We also want to learn as much as we can about potential new homes so that we can ensure the best match for them and their new families
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include chocolate, tan and white, parti, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Great level

Majestic Touch Kennels and Pet Services reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Yorkshire Terriers.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
